ACHIEVEMENTS
Authored the first reports in field of psychoactive drugs
Introduced sodium nucleinate in the management of the psychotic agitation (1917) and the use of phenobarbital for the control of seizures (1919)
With H. Valdizán made the first phyto-pharmacological contributions in clinical and therapeutic studies on mental disorders
Described 3 fundamental concepts in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia: the autism, the disjunction of the ego with respect to the content of consciousness and the breakdown of basic categories of knowledge
Anticipated the role of attention and cognition in the phenomenology of schizophrenia
Developed technotherapy (the use of arts for recovering psychiatric patients)
