Gonzalo Halffter Salas, Spanish-born Mexican entomologist (Madrid 19 September 1932 – Xalapa 11 March 2022)

Regarded as world authority on behavior and analysis of subsocial structures of insects  and ecology, biology and ethology of dung beetles

Authored 358 works being 76 books and book chapters (3,200 citations in 2003)

Developed a theory of dispersal patterns (1970s)
