ACHIEVEMENTS

Discovered the isiminazole group of oxo-chloro compounds

With P. Gupta first synthesized rubiadin, an anthraquinone derivative (1927-8)

With P.N. Bagchi offered an explanation for the formation of some 12 and 16-carbon acids occurring in nature (1939)
