Julio Afrânio Peixoto, Brazilian psychiatrist and coroner (Lençois, Bahia State 17 December 1876 – Rio de Janeiro 12 January 1947)

Internationally known as criminologist 

Authored 15 psychiatric works

His thesis Epilepsia e crime (1898), aroused great interest in foreign scientific circles

Sugested a protocol for autopsies like that of  Virchow. Two great names of forensic medicine Locard and Lombroso praised Peixoto’s protocol
