Adinath Lahiri, Indian chemist and technologist (Pabna, now Bangladesh 24 August 1916 – London 26 August 1975)

Recognized as an international authority on coal

Authored over 500 articles

Made important contributions to knowledge of the state of combination of carbon and hydrogen in the coal molecule and its derivatives

His studies led to many improvements in coal washing technology some of which have been internationally adopted
