Antonio Fernandes Figueira, Brazilian pediatrician (Rio de Janeiro 13 June 1863 – Rio de Janeiro 12 March 1928)
Authored 71 works on medicine
His monograph Diagnostico das cardiopatias infantis (1895) appeared in medical magazine Lancet in the following year
Published Elements of Infant Semiology (1900), translated to French and Italian languages in 1903. This book renders him international recognition being considered in Europe the best work of this field and used as textbook in European universities
