Armando Dias Tavares, Brazilian physicist (Rio de Janeiro 27 February 1917 – Rio de Janeiro 26 February 1988)

Gave an electronic interpretation for thermodielectric effect suggesting a quantum theory  such as semiconductor conductivity theory

Developed a method for experimental study of thermodielectric effect
