Attia Abdel Salam Ashour, Egyptian mathematician and geophysicist (Dumyat/Damietta 13 September 1924 – Cairo 17 April 2017)
One of the few world experts on the mathematical theory of electromagnetic induction
Showed that any current distribution in the ionospheric shell tends to rotate about the magnetic dipole axis
