ACHIEVEMENTS 

Regarded as one of the world pioneers in electrometallurgy 

Held many patents related to iron and steel production employing electricity 

Patented a process for production of pig iron, iron and its alloys jointly with a eletrical furnace that make it in 1902 (with Joseph Gerspacher)

Patented and constructed an innovative electrical furnace for ferromanganese production (1908) that attracted international reputation
