Developed a number of improved varieties of maize, such as Piramex, Centralmex, Perola Piracicaba, ESALQ VF-1, ESALQ VD-2, Piranão VF-1, Piranão VD-2, Pirapoca, ESALQ VD-2 waxy, etc.
