Fernando Augusto Ribeiro de Magalhães, Brazilian gynecologist and obstetrician (Rio de Janeiro 18 February 1878 – Rio de Janeiro 10 January 1944)

Developed a Caesarean section method of his own insulating uterus with rubber sheets (1915)

Idealized a low caesarean section with anterior incision and low body with exteriorized uterus in Lições de Clinica Obstetrica (Novas lições) 1933

1)      Law of curvatures consonance: “the pelvian curvature to forceps corresponds to  curvy direction of pelvis”

2)      Law of surfaces correlation: “the concavity of spoon fórceps are intended to regular convexity of poles”

3)      Law of parallel transposition: “the smaller intracochlear parallel it will pass the bigger delivery parallel”

4)      Law of directing propulsions: “the power acts guiding the upper pole of delivery leaving free the largest sphere segment”

His son, Nuno Andrade de Magalhães, gynecologist and obstetrician (Rio de Janeiro 20 July 1908 – Rio de Janeiro 14 April 1952)
