First anatomopathological study on Chagas disease

Showed the existence of leishmaniform bodies in myocardium fibers in human and animals

Discovered intracellular multiplication of Trypanosoma cruzi via leishmanias independently from Max Hartmann

Discovered non-flagellate and leishmanioids tissue forms of Trypanosoma cruzi, found in muscle fibers, brain and thyroid  known as Gaspar Vianna forms or nests, pathognomic of Chagas disease

Reported for the first time the hepatic involvement in paracoccidioidomycosis (1913)

First described phenomenon of crypto-sporulation (1914) independently from P. Dias da Silva 

With Miguel Pereira described lymphangitic form of blastomycosis
