With A. Kadiri developed a simple technique and established the safety of treating gross anaemia by packed cell transfusion combined with ethacrynic acid (1970)

First to show that anaemia in the mother impaired the growth of her baby in the womb, and that the correction of the anaemia during pregnancy led to catch-up growth of the baby

Unraveled the influence of several haemoglobinopathies in pregnant women and their babies and how best to deal with them
