Performed the first replacement of the common carotid artery by a plastic prosthesis or Dacron in the world (1957)

Founded the first chair of cardiovascular surgery in the world at Universidad Central de Venezuela (1968)

New method for surgical treatment of the postphlebitic syndrome. Angiologia 26(3):89-94, 1974

With H. Fermin, H. Velarde, A. Lairet & G. Silva presented the first case in literature of a fistula between the ascending aorta and the left atrium (1986)
