Trajano Augusto de Carvalho, Brazilian naval engineer (Florianópolis 25 August 1830 – London 09 April 1898)
INVENTIONS
Conceived a new design for ship’s keel that provided minor resistance to movement (1868). He patented it in many European countries. It is said that British hydrodinamicist William Froude tested and approved the invention. The Trajano ship’s keel drew with prominence in Universal Fair of Wien (1873). Despite these facts the invention was forgotten some time after.
Invented a system of floating docks, that he didn’t patented it.
