Ganchang Wang, Chinese nuclear physicist (Changshu, Jiangsu Province 28 May 1907 – Beijing 10 December 1998)

First proposed to use a cloud chamber to study high-energy rays (1930)

First proposed the use of beta-capture to detect the neutrino (1941)

Designed a magnetic cloud chamber (1952)

Discovered and recorded new types of particles from cosmic rays (1950s)

Discovered anti-sigma minus hyperon (1959)

Put forward new concepts for the restriction of nuclear fusion through laser inertia

Presented the concept of laser fusion independently (1964)
