Arnaldo de Moraes, Brazilian gynecologist and obstetrician (Rio de Janeiro 28 August 1893 – Rio de Janeiro 06 April 1961)

Considered a founding father of cervical pathology along with Navratil (c.1949)

Coined the term colpocytology

Founded Instituto de Ginecologia at Rio de Janeiro (1947)

New documentation method of surgical technics used in the Instituto de Ginecologia of Universidade do Brasil. Rev. Bras. Cir. (1954)

Proposed the combined use of colposcopy, colpocytology and histopathological examination for cervical cancer (J.P. Rieper put it into practice)
