Francisco José Higino de Jesus de Albear y Fernandez de Lara, Cuban civil engineer (La Habana 11 January 1816 – La Habana 22 October 1887)
Designed and build the Habana aqueduct that earned him international recognition

His La Habana Master Plan was one of the most proeminent urban plannings in the world incorporating surveying, topography and land planning into a master piece of cartography (1861-4; published in 1874)
Intervened in the delivery of nearly 200 works through projects, reports, partial works and constructions
Built and / or aided in construction of roads, streets, avenues, bridges, buildings, railways, moles, lighthouses and fountains
