Qun Lin, Chinese mathematician (Fujian Province 15 July 1935 –

Suggested an alternative version of calculus to liberate theorems from proofs

Developed extrapolation techniques into an unified approach to finite element method from individual methods

Found out the lower and upper bounds from several nonconforming finite element methods, gave the a posteriori error estimate and proved the higher order accuracy of extrapolation    

Formulated a systematic accelerating theory of  the solving of the differential equations with abroad repercussion known as theory of exploration of finite and boundary element solution of partial differential equations (1970s)
